本宮山の山頂の本宮と里宮
奥宮のある本宮山(標高７８９ｍ)は景勝地には、砥鹿神社の山岳信仰の奥宮が鎮座
本宮山を御神体山とする古代信仰の形式を継承する神社。
奥宮が山岳信仰、里宮が川神への信仰と起源とし、 二つの信仰対象が合体したという見方も有る様です。
